Kevin D’Amour, PhD

Kevin D’Amour, Ph.D., is an accomplished biotechnology executive leader with over 20 years of experience. Dr. D’Amour is an expert in stem cell science, a co-author of high-profile publications in renowned scientific journals, and an inventor on over 150 patents in the fields of stem cells, cell engineering, and cell therapy. He has extensive experience in translational research and development and regulatory filings for early clinical stage products. Dr. D’Amour served as Chief Scientific Officer of Stemson Therapeutics (2023-2024) Brooklyn ImmunoTherapeutics (2021-2022) and ViaCyte, Inc. (2011-2021). He also served in roles of increasing leadership at ViaCyte from 2002 to 2011.

Dr. D’Amour received a Ph.D. in Biology from the University of California, San Diego and a B.S. in Animal Science from the University of New Hampshire. Dr. D’Amour performed pre-doctoral research with Dr. Fred Gage at The Salk Institute where he studied stem cell plasticity in neural stem cells.
